Due to the ever changing versions of Wordpress and the eCommerce Platform you have decided to use, this could be, WooCommerce, JigoShop or WP eCommerce, it is always best practice to view the versions of these platforms we have tested our products with.
These can be found in the product description.
Example provided is WooCommerce ANZ eGate.
i = INFORMATION
Compatible up to WooCommerce Version 2.3.8
Requires WordPress 3.8, Tested up to WordPress 4.1.2
Before you 'Update' you can also check here, this will display the Version of WordPress your product is compatible with.
Whilst we do our best to have our products ready for core changes/ major releases, this is not always possible.
We also like to tread the water a little before we push any major changes to our products due to the instability of new releases.
You may have noticed that WordPress now has a automatic updates feature, although new major releases are not applied automatically, and the only way to update is to click the button 'UPDATE', and update manually.
Automatic Background Updates
For WordPress 3.7+, you don’t have to lift a finger to apply minor and security updates. Most sites are now able to automatically apply these updates in the background. If your site is capable of one-click updates without entering FTP credentials, then your site should be able to update from 3.7 to 3.7.1, 3.7.2, etc. (You’ll still need to click “Update Now” for major feature releases.)
